※About Keshi Pearls
Keshi pearls are pearls that are accidentally formed when foreign matter, such as sand grains, enters the shell of a cultured pearl oyster.
The foreign matter slightly irritates the inner surface of the shell, causing pearl-producing cells to enter and form nacre layers.
Unlike regular pearls, which are formed by inserting a round nucleus around which nacre layers are wrapped, Keshi pearls have no nucleus, resulting in unique, natural forms.
However, most Keshi pearls have imperfections or protrusions, and it is rare to find ones that are perfectly round or beautifully shaped.
