About Umibotaru
Naturally colored blue baroque Akoya pearls, cultivated by one of Japan's leading pearl farmers with 120 years of history in Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Only pearls with a mysterious blue color, as if reflecting the sea of Tsushima, are named "Umibotaru" and certified as a unique pearl brand.
The beautiful iridescent colors of Akoya pearls are created when organic components from the shell enter the nacre layers.
While naturally colored blue Akoya pearls are prone to color change, "Umibotaru" pearls have thick and dense nacre layers, and undergo a preservation process under strict management to minimize color change.
Customers who purchase these pearls will receive a card certifying them as Umibotaru.
