About Umibotaru Pearls
Natural blue baroque Akoya pearls cultivated by one of Japan's leading pearl farmers, with a 120-year history in Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Only pearls with a mysterious blue, as if reflecting the sea of Tsushima, are named "Umibotaru" and certified as a unique pearl brand.
The beautiful iridescent color of Akoya pearls is created when organic components of the shell enter the nacre layer.
While natural blue Akoya pearls are considered prone to color changes, "Umibotaru" pearls have a thick nacre layer and deep color, and undergo a preservation process under strict quality control to resist color change.
Customers who purchase these pearls will receive a certificate proving they are Umibotaru.
