*What are Keshi pearls?
Keshi pearls are pearls that are accidentally formed when foreign objects, such as grains of sand, enter the shell of a cultured pearl oyster.
When a foreign object slightly irritates the inside of the shell, pearl-forming cells enter and form nacre layers.
Unlike regular pearls, which are formed around a round nucleus, Keshi pearls have no nucleus, resulting in their unique, natural shapes.
However, most Keshi pearls have imperfections or protrusions, and it is rare to find ones that are perfectly round or of consistently high quality.
