Wandering Pearl Chain Necklace - Akoya Keshi A
A chain necklace featuring Akoya Keshi pearls, allowing you to freely adjust the position of the small pearls according to your mood each day.
Move them to the side, to the back, or space them out.
This necklace gently complements your outfit of the day.
We used two Akoya Keshi pearls of different sizes: approximately 6.5mm and 3.5mm.
The chain is an 18K Venetian chain, adjustable up to 45cm.
The main pearl is designed with an 18K pipe inserted to fit its shape, allowing it to slide smoothly along the chain.
The smaller side pearl, on the other hand, can be fixed in your desired position with a silicone-lined ball.
We've made some improvements from previous versions; the central Akoya Keshi pearl now has an 18K pipe inserted, and each pearl is carefully hand-carved to fit its shape.
This design protects the delicate pearl from chain friction without compromising its beautiful form, ensuring it can be cherished for a long time.
The main pearl in this piece has a thick, three-dimensional form.
It's a design that highlights the silhouette, accented by slender side pearls.
The Akoya Keshi pearls used were cultivated by the same farmer in Tsushima as our "Umibotaru" collection, and they boast exceptional luster and color.
*What are Keshi Pearls?
Keshi pearls are pearls that are accidentally formed when foreign matter, such as a grain of sand, enters the shell of an oyster producing cultured pearls.
The foreign matter slightly irritates the inside of the shell, causing pearl-producing cells to enter and form nacre.
While regular pearls are made by inserting a round nucleus around which nacre forms, Keshi pearls lack this nucleus, resulting in unique, naturally formed shapes.
However, most Keshi pearls have blemishes or protrusions, and those that are round or have a beautifully uniform quality are rarely found.
