*What is a Keshi pearl?
Keshi pearls are accidentally formed in cultured pearl oysters when foreign substances, such as grains of sand, enter and irritate the oyster.
The foreign object slightly wounds the inside of the oyster, allowing cells that produce nacre to enter the interior, forming the pearl layer.
While regular pearls are formed by inserting a round nucleus around which nacre layers are wrapped, Keshi pearls lack this nucleus, resulting in unique, natural shapes.
However, most of them have scratches or protrusions, and it is very rare to find rounded ones or those with a beautifully uniform quality.
