April 1, 2025 | Kiyoto Hoshika Report on Specimen Stands
Thank you for your continued patronage of sCenes.
We regret to inform you of the passing of Kiyoto Hoshika, who was involved in the production of sCenes, including the specimen stands. He was 69 years old.
We are deeply saddened by his untimely death.
In recent years, he not only made recorders and flutes but also wooden shaft pens. It was during exchanges with sCenes for future productions that this sudden tragic news arrived.
COLLECTIBLE PEARL, which has now become an iconic collection of sCenes, was able to materialize the unprecedented idea of "displaying pearls," which allowed it to become known to many people. I believe this would not have been possible without Mr. Hoshika's help.
I still remember the感動 (deep impression/emotion) I felt when the specimen stands were completed.
Mr. Hoshika was a friend of my father's since their school days, and I myself was kindly looked after by him since I was a child. I remember how happy I was when I became an adult and was able to work with him.
I was captivated by his gentle personality and beautiful works, and the time we spent together visiting his workshop many times and creating things together was irreplaceable.
We respectfully express our deepest condolences and heartfelt gratitude for Mr. Hoshika's achievements during his lifetime.
It is with great regret that we announce that sales of Mr. Hoshika's works will be discontinued as of March.
We hope that the works you have acquired will continue to be cherished by you.
sCenes Takatoshi Yoshida
