【Pearl Details】
PQ (PRECIOUS PEARL QUALITY)
| NUMBER: SU58280 | ORIGIN: Tsushima, Japan |
| SHAPE: Baroque | SIZE: aprx.8-9mm |
| COLOR: Blue-green | GRADE [Nacre]: Thick |
| GRADE [Luster]: AAA | GRADE [Blemish]: AAA |
This is a single pearl with a deep bluish-green color.
It creates a beautiful iridescent play of color.
Because the color is so deep, the blue stands out beautifully against white or skin, and under strong direct light, like sunlight, interference colors of pink and yellow emerge within the blue.
Its round-like shape makes it easy to pair with any base part.
※About Umibotaru
Umibotaru are natural blue baroque Akoya pearls cultivated by one of Japan's leading farmers, who have been in business for 120 years in Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Only pearls with a mysterious blue color, as if reflecting the sea of Tsushima, are given the name "Umibotaru" and certified as a pearl brand.
Natural blue Akoya pearls are created when organic components from the shell enter the nacre layer, producing beautiful interference colors. Since this color emerges by chance, it is rare and very valuable for the blue to spread beautifully over the entire pearl.
While natural blue Akoya pearls are known to be prone to color change, "Umibotaru" pearls have a thick nacre layer and a deep color, and undergo a preservation process under strict management to prevent color changes.
You can read an interview with the producers of Umibotaru here.
