[Kiyoto Hoshika × sCenes] Black Lip Mother of Pearl Stand Tray - NC *Sales start January 4th at 8 PM
This is a black-lipped mother-of-pearl stand tray, for which we asked Kiyoto Hoshika, a recorder and flute maker, to create the stand.
The tray is made from Tahitian black-lipped mother-of-pearl, and sCenes processed it to deliberately retain the natural shape of the shell.
The stand is made using the same method as woodwind instrument manufacturing, where wood is rotated and carved using a machine called a wood lathe.
The design is like an upside-down specimen stand for COLLECTIBLE PEARL, with sharp edges throughout, and the beautiful curves extending from the corners, a testament to handcrafted work, are wonderful. The detailed fine grooves are also exquisitely done.
Maple is a wood used in recorders and other instruments, known for its smooth texture and silky luster.
This piece utilizes the natural color of the wood and is finished without oil coating, making the pale hue of the maple attractive.
You can place rings or earrings on it after wearing them, or display it as an objet d'art in a cabinet.
Please use it as you like.
More detailed information can be found on the special feature page.

SIZEOverall size: W approximately 12cm × D approximately 12cm × H approximately 7.5cm (Stand: W3.8cm × H5.5cm)
Care Instructions
■The stand has an unpainted (no oil) finish. Since it is carved from well-dried wood, it is resistant to cracking, but it can easily absorb moisture and oils. When cleaning, wipe it with a dry cloth. If it gets dirty, wipe it with a tightly wrung damp cloth and dry it thoroughly.
■The nacre side (contact surface) of the shell tray is unpainted. Similar to pearls, contact with acidic substances may dull its luster, so if this occurs, wipe it immediately with a soft cloth.
Notes
・Since the stand is made from natural wood and handcrafted one by one, please understand that there may be slight individual differences.
・Each black-lipped mother-of-pearl shell has a unique appearance, so please refer to the images before purchasing.
・Scratches, holes, or cracks may be visible on the inner surface or edges of the shell. These are either natural occurrences or minor imperfections from the cutting process. The back side is finished close to its natural state, and there may be small natural deposits. If you are concerned about this, please refrain from purchasing.
・The back side of the shell (the black side) is coated with a polymer (ingredients: silicone, etc.) to prevent drying, but prolonged exposure to UV light or aging may weaken the protective film's effectiveness.
・While the brittle layer of the back shell has been removed and a polymer applied, it is not solidified, so please understand that layers may chip or peel off.
・Although the edges and sharp parts of the shell have been smoothed, please handle it carefully when touching.
・Due to the weight of the shell, the stand has a wide base but is relatively easy to tip over. Please handle with care.
・Do not place heavy or large items on it.
*Each pearl sometimes has blemishes and flaws on the surface which actually indicate that a pearl is authentic. *For any enquiries and further information about our products, please do not hesitate to contact us before the purchase. *The pearls and jewelries on the image may slightly differ from their actual color, texture and design due to the display resolution on different devices.
