Both before and after launching sCenes, I have been involved in the wholesale of pearls.
I attend auctions, source only the pearls I like from fellow brokers in the industry, then pair them or craft them into semi-finished necklaces, adding value before selling them.
We've always focused on quality, mindful sourcing, and selecting only items that align with our philosophy—pieces that evoke joy in those who wear them. This approach has shaped our company's identity, and sCenes embodies the same spirit.

However, a slight difference with sCenes is that we highlight our highly personal sourcing and unique discerning eye in our product development.

For example, these button-shaped Tahitian pearls are rarely seen in the market. Even with our extensive experience seeing countless pearls at auctions and through regular sourcing, it's incredibly rare to encounter them. I was drawn to their indescribably strong, unique form, which led to their procurement.
There are various types of button shapes; we often see fat buttons, which are plump, dome-like shapes that are almost round. However, it's rare to see such thin, flat shapes that resemble true buttons.

This is likely due to the characteristics of the black-lipped oyster, which is the smallest after Akoya among saltwater pearls, and it's a difficult shape to achieve during the process of nacre coating over a spherical nucleus.
Essentially, in saltwater cultured pearls, a round nucleus is inserted with the aim of producing as many beautiful round pearls as possible. Therefore, the highest market value is for round pearls, followed by drops, and then buttons.

However, even among drops and buttons, it's extremely rare to find truly beautiful shapes like the elegant teardrop, and these flat buttons are even rarer.
That said, if asked which shape is more beautiful, while individual tastes vary, most people, I believe, would choose the teardrop...

This pearl carries a strong personal sentiment.
Who will be captivated by it, and who will collect it?
It's a single pearl that I can't stop thinking about.

As the year-end approaches, it finally feels like winter has truly arrived.
I'm not a fan of winter, so mornings have become tough, but in recent years, winter has felt short, so I hope I can enjoy this cold weather.

Well, this year, we relaunched our site under the name sCenes, and it was a year where I felt various difficulties.
I wrestled with how to effectively convey the actual quality and appeal of our products through non-face-to-face sales.
Little by little, our photos and videos have improved, and I believe we've finally been able to express the unique identity of sCenes.
I am immensely grateful to my colleagues who helped run the site.
